SLC 500 picture ...... The Profibus DP Scanner Module from SST (S-S Technologies) allows the user to easily configure its port as a Profibus DP Master in an Allen-Bradley PLC-5 or SLC 500. This permits the customer to communicate directly to Eurotherm 2408F or 2404F instruments.

Product Description
The SST Technologies Module is a single slot solution for the Allen-Bradley 1771 (PLC-5) and the Allen-Bradley 1746 (SLC 500) platforms. By providing Profibus communications, the SST scanner modules provide robust high speed communications (up to 1.5 Mb) between Eurotherm precision instruments and an Allen-Bradley PLC.

Simple to Use
The SST scanner module is Profibus master for up to 96 Eurotherm slave instruments. For the PLC-5, Profibus I/O data from the instruments is automatically mapped to the N file of your choice. In the SLC 500, Profibus I/O data is automatically mapped into the processor's I, O, M1 and M0 files. The Profibus configuration is simplified by Eurotherm's exclusive GSD order entry software tool and SST's DP configuration software. NEW! Advanced Heater Diagnostics
When the Series 2000 instruments are used with the TE10S Contactors, complete heater diagnostics can be communicated to the Allen-Bradley PLC. This includes: heater amperage, fuse status, contactor health, and load health. The Eurotherm diagnostics are multiplexed onto the existing signal wires via the new PDSIO™ diagnostics... a patented technology by Eurotherm.

The Series 2000™ instruments are available with Modbus, Eurotherm, SPI, BC560, Profibus and other communications protocols.

The 2408F and 2404F are the Profibus compatible instruments that are used with the SST Technologies module or other Profibus networks.

Installation, Setup, and Operation
The SST module is enabled and controlled with simple ladder logic and data table initialization. Each product is shipped with a user's manual detailing the installation and operation of the module.
